Plus size Gyaru: My tips and tricks

 Hello!

I'm glad its finally almost the weekend, work has been toughI'm getting impatientI'm getting impatient my chronic illness has been creeping back and I'm so tired all the timeI'm getting impatientI'm getting impatient

Regardless onto today's topic! I frequently see people asking about what to do if your plus size and if you are even be gal.

The simple answer: Obviously

I think in the current day spaces, it can feel like you have to be a certain way otherwise you're not "true" gal  Everyone remembers 2015 kawaii era right? I've recently been looking back and realizing just how much promotes a certain look! No wonder little me was so unconfident in being herself I'm getting impatient I never expressed myself outwardly! It wasn't until quite recent ie. 2-3 years ago I realized what was holding me back  I realized if I wait until I'm the perfect mold..well I'll never be who I want to be and that's my attitude in life, if you like something or you want to look a certain way, go for it!My heart is pounding. My heart is pounding. My heart is pounding. My heart is pounding.

Which is why I wanted to make this entry! I believe no matter how you look, you should be able to express yourself however you want plus I've had my own fair share of the rudeness within online spaces regarding something so simple as size I'm getting impatient

I don't let things like that affect me anymore, after all, I believe the most gal response to things like that is to ignore them and do what makes you happy and give positivity to others! People who critique others when its not asked for are only insecure within themselves and want an outlet

So onto the fun stuff!

"What's the most important part?"

YOUR MAKE! Think of the typical "gal" attires as more of an accessory than the most important aspect, its nice! But its not necessary My heart is pounding. Despite gyaru being a typically flashy look, less can definitely be more as to not look more like cosplay

I'm plus size and I want to wear brand but most are "one-size"

You'd be surprised at how much brand you could very likely wear! I own SO many pieces now where some won't zip up and others are loose on me, all trial and error

Now I won't sit here and say "go buy that MA*RS set up! Ignore all descriptions!" No, read descriptions and ask for measurements, keep fabrics in mind. For me, I hate rough and stiff textures on me regardless, so I try to buy anything that's cotton or a soft fabric (I personally enjoy cotton+spandex blends) You can find plenty of nice soft MA*RS dresses and tops all over secondhand sites. Same applies to other brands, example I don't have £200 to splash on a Jesus Diamante dress, so I opt for their cardigans and accessories  and learn to modify! Jp brands tend to run small in the chest area and hips, so I prefer to replace elastic and even sewMy heart is pounding.

MA*RS

Liz Lisa/ or style wise

Alba Rosa

There is also jp brands known for their larger sizes such as Galfy (popular with manba + ganguro) and also DreamV + ACDC RAG if you're willing to get creativeMy heart is pounding.

"Anything for international brands?"

Yes! For Korean brands (as they are popular right now) like Babymetalclub do a fair share of "loose" fitting clothes that I personally believe can fit a lot of people! Shushucherry also offers some "plus" in their items too

There is also plenty of small independents who recreate styles of the era, namely Pink Ruby Hime

+ others

Secondhand Shopping

Similar to make being the most important part, brand does not make a gal "gyaru", go outside and go shopping! My heart is pounding. Find out what is your own personal taste, what you enjoy and base your second hand finds off of that.. ie. do you like the styles of D.I.A clothes? Go for fitted black attire such as a tight mini skirt, wear gold detailing, look for fur prints like zebra and dark wash denimsMy heart is pounding.

I believe thats all I have to offer! The main takeaway is be yourself and wear what feel confident in and to be the happiest version of you
If you wish to be totally authentic (which I personally believe people should aspire to be), do your homework and look at old magazines! Koakuma Ageha, Nuts, Egg, Ranzuki etc. Look at what gals of the peak time wore!My heart is pounding. I'd suggest staying at a distance for inspo on social media since its full of misinformation

Thats all for this entry! Feel free to add anything in the comments My heart is pounding. My heart is pounding. See you soon!My heart is pounding.

toodles~
